About the position

The Senior Business Development Manager at Altera, a standalone business unit of Intel, is responsible for driving the adoption of FPGA solutions within the Military, Aerospace, and Government (MAG) sectors. This role involves developing a motivated business development and marketing team, creating partnerships, and influencing customers and partners to integrate Altera's FPGA products into their solutions. The position requires strategic thinking, effective communication, and the ability to manage complex business transactions while ensuring revenue growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a highly motivated and effective business development and marketing team.
  • Develop a partner and SI ecosystem for generating demand and revenue for Altera FPGA solutions.
  • Provide product presentations to customers describing how Altera products provide the optimum solution to their application.
  • Develop a strategy and marketing material with BU Partners, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Translate Altera products' value propositions to customers' solutions designed for MAG markets.
  • Conceptualize customers' solutions and translate them into key Altera or Altera ecosystem requirements, working with technical teams through the development cycle.
  • Understand competitors' strengths and weaknesses relative to the appropriate technical strategy.
  • Provide timely feedback to the factory on product and strategy issues to ensure Altera can respond to and/or anticipate changes.
  • Understand Altera's business practices including pricing, forecasting, distribution, and Business Code of Ethics.
  • Manage revenue growth and profitability by developing business relationships with third parties to complete business unit platform/product portfolios and accomplish business unit strategic objectives.
  • Drive complex business transactions from deal conception and negotiation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development and marketing, particularly in the technology sector.
  • Strong understanding of FPGA technology and its applications in the Military, Aerospace, and Government sectors.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey product value propositions to customers.
  • Ability to develop and manage partnerships and ecosystems that drive demand and revenue.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution, with a focus on revenue growth and profitability.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with government contracts and regulations.
  • Familiarity with the competitive landscape in the FPGA industry.
  • Knowledge of technical sales processes and customer solution design.
