About the position

The Alterations Specialist at David's Bridal is responsible for providing exceptional customer service through fittings and alterations, ensuring that all garments meet the company's high standards. This role requires a friendly demeanor, technical sewing skills, and the ability to manage customer interactions effectively. The position is part-time, focusing primarily on weekend hours, and involves working closely with customers to enhance their experience and satisfaction with their bridal attire.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers with genuine enthusiasm over the phone, virtual chats, and in person.
• Communicate clearly and concisely, adapting style to suit customers' needs.
• Manage customer flow to deliver a five-star customer experience.
• Maintain service levels by being prepared, welcoming, and attentive to customer needs.
• Provide exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously.
• Proactively address customer concerns and know when to escalate issues to leadership.
• Promote alteration services and personalization options to customers.
• Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting on gown fit and customization.
• Maintain store standards to support a flawless shopping experience.
• Inspect all garments altered/steamed/pressed to ensure pristine condition before delivery.
• Build long-term relationships with customers to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
• Process special orders and ensure quality standards for merchandise.
• Manage all alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning of garments.
• Resolve customer service issues swiftly and effectively.
• Support cash wrap behaviors and process transactions accurately.
• Maintain a clean and organized alterations room.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent degree.
• 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
• Prior sewing experience required, preferably in bridal and/or special occasion production environment.
• Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) system is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a bridal or special occasion production environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and conflict resolution abilities.
