About the position

At Altra, we are on a never-ending journey to seek out opportunities to unlock potential in ourselves and others and to create a more diverse and inclusive running community. The Senior Manager of Community will play a pivotal role in the marketing department, primarily focused on North America. This position is responsible for leading the social, influencer, and run club strategy and vision, overseeing the integration of athletes and events into our community initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with the creative team and external partners to drive growth and enhance brand awareness across a diverse community. This role reports directly to the marketing director. A typical day in this role involves being at the forefront of culture and social trends to attract future consumers and build a relevant brand. The Senior Manager will set the strategy for building the brand's community across social media, influencers, and run clubs, while also leading the athlete and events manager to find integration opportunities across all channels. The position requires building out an organic social content calendar based on content pillars and brand marketing calendars, writing monthly organic social sprint briefs, and inspiring the creative team and content creators. Additionally, the Senior Manager will be the expert in our social listening and scheduling platform, Sprinklr, and will develop social guidelines for a consistent look and feel across platforms. Sourcing influencers and ambassadors for the brand, briefing them with content ideas, and ensuring contracts and payments are managed with the support of the production manager and events and social coordinator are also key responsibilities. The role requires leveraging channels to gather consumer insights that can drive new ideas and actions, working with the marketing director and creative team to ideate new ways to activate the consumer of the future, and developing strategies for local run culture activation in collaboration with the retail team.
