About the position

The Aluminum Buyer position at Crown Cork & Seal USA, Inc. involves supporting the Aluminum Sourcing Manager and Director in North America. The role focuses on supply chain coordination, inventory management, supplier management, logistics, process improvement, and compliance. The buyer will work closely with various internal teams and suppliers to ensure efficient procurement processes and maintain optimal inventory levels while contributing to cost reduction and service level improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, production planning, and logistics.
  • Work with internal teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with sourcing strategies.
  • Document business requirements and translate them into a supply plan.
  • Contribute to the optimization of supply chain efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Maintain and deploy inventory control procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory data to forecast demand and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers for reliable material supply.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with logistics partners to optimize shipping routes and reduce costs.
  • Assist in sourcing projects, including cost analysis and supplier evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate data in procurement systems and support compliance with company policies.
  • Generate routine reports on sourcing activities and supplier performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or operations.
  • Experience in managing inventory, logistics, or supplier relationships is preferred.
  • Proactive approach and willingness to take initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting, and dashboarding.
