About the position

The Alumni External Relations Manager (AERM) at the University of California, Davis, plays a crucial role in advancing the College of Biological Sciences (CBS) initiatives by planning, developing, and executing complex programs and engagement strategies for alumni, donors, and key constituency groups. This position involves designing strategic plans, addressing sensitive issues, and ensuring effective recognition of CBS donors while fostering connections within the college community. The AERM also serves as the lead ambassador for annual giving programs, providing high-level support to internal and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and execute complex programs and events for alumni and donors.
• Design short and long-term strategic plans for alumni relations and stewardship efforts.
• Lead stewardship and alumni relations-related events to foster connections within the college community.
• Provide leadership and oversight for annual giving programs, including Give Day and crowdfunding efforts.
• Collaborate with Development and Alumni Relations (DEVAR) and other campus colleagues to enhance alumni engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional or volunteer experience in a fundraising organization, preferably in higher education or non-profit sectors.
• Strong project management, time management, and event planning skills.
• Knowledge of principles and best practices in philanthropy and relationship management.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
