About the position

The position involves providing dedicated childcare support for a private family in Northern New Jersey, focusing on the care of two children, one of whom has special needs. The role requires a nurturing professional with experience in childcare, particularly with special needs, to ensure the safety, well-being, and development of the children through various activities and routines.

Responsibilities

• Engage and interact with the children in educational and recreational activities.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
• Assist with personal care routines such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Help with homework and educational tasks as needed.
• Manage children's laundry and maintain cleanliness in their living areas.
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks for the children.
• Organize and maintain children's schedules, including school pickups and extracurricular activities.
• Perform light housekeeping duties, including tidying common areas and loading/unloading the dishwasher.
• Drive children to and from school, appointments, and activities as required.
• Assist with bedtime routines, including preparing children for bed and reading bedtime stories.
• Maintain open and clear communication with parents regarding children's activities, needs, and progress.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a nanny or childcare provider, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
• RBT/Tech certification for Special needs.
• Own car or valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience working with children in a school setting or as a live-in nanny, and experience with special needs, including autism, is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to take certifications.
