About the position

The Amazon Dedicated Cloud team is seeking a cleared Cloud Engineer to implement innovative cloud computing solutions for U.S. Government agencies. This role involves building and operating complex distributed systems, focusing on operational excellence and troubleshooting. The engineer will work with services like Kinesis Data Streams, Managed Streaming for Kafka, and more, ensuring seamless scaling and optimization of cloud services.

Responsibilities

  • Support AWS Storage and Data services engineering and operations.
  • Manage and monitor systems health and status.
  • Provision devices, assist with data ingestion, and perform device cleaning.
  • Troubleshoot device, network, and configuration-related issues.
  • Document and communicate engineering and operations recommendations to team members.
  • Write and disseminate after-action reports capturing key events and future mitigation plans.
  • Provide on-call support when necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or Cloud+ or GICSP or GSEC or SSCP certification.
  • 3+ years of Linux systems administration experience.
  • 3+ years of technical troubleshooting/support experience.
  • 2+ years of networking experience (TCP/IP).
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.

Nice-to-haves

  • 2+ years experience with cloud computing technologies.
  • 3+ years of experience with support procedures and methodologies for production computing environments.
  • 3+ years experience automating routine tasks.
  • 3+ years experience with performance and log analysis.
