About the position

The Operations Manager at Amazon DSP in Phoenix, AZ is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the delivery service, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in all aspects of the business. This role involves managing driver scheduling, fleet management, training, and maintaining relationships with vendors and Amazon stakeholders. The Operations Manager will also play a key role in shaping the company culture as it grows, focusing on teamwork and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core areas of the business including driver scheduling, fleet management, and team management.
• Arrive at the distribution location to perform dispatch duties and ensure readiness for the day.
• Verify vans are ready for Delivery Associates (DAs) and conduct safety inspections.
• Assign routes and conduct stand-up meetings with DAs covering safety and quality updates.
• Manage daily performance of DAs to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
• Coach DAs on performance and ensure new drivers are trained to standards.
• Analyze weekly scorecards and provide coaching for areas of improvement.
• Work with Amazon stakeholders on DA and DSP metrics.
• Monitor and schedule preventative maintenance for the fleet and manage light maintenance tasks.
• Be prepared to perform any aspect of the DA job in case of emergencies.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid US Driver's License required.
• Eligible to work in the US.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Physically able to lift and carry 50lbs without assistance.
• Ability to think on your feet and problem solve in stressful situations.
• Must be computer literate and able to operate a smartphone/GPS device.
• Management experience required, DSP management experience is a strong plus.
• Customer service experience required.
