About the position

As an Amazon Fulfillment Center Warehouse Associate, you will be an integral part of the team responsible for preparing customer orders. This role is fast-paced and physical, taking place in various areas of the warehouse, including merchandise handling, make-on-demand services, customer returns, Prime Now, and general fulfillment. Your primary duties will involve selecting, packing, and shipping orders, including those for our expedited delivery service that promises delivery in two hours or less. You will be expected to receive and put away inventory, prepare customer orders for shipment, and load boxes onto trucks. Additionally, you will utilize scanners to read bar codes, follow prompts on screens, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that products meet quality standards. Operating powered industrial trucks (PIT), such as forklifts or pallet drivers, is also part of the job, and you may work at heights of up to 40 feet, for which training and certification will be provided at no cost. The physical demands of the job include lifting up to 49 pounds, pushing utility carts weighing up to 60 pounds, and performing various movements such as standing, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching throughout your shifts. You may also need to navigate stairs and work at heights on a mezzanine, depending on the specific role. Adherence to strict safety, quality, and fulfillment production standards is crucial in this position. Working at an Amazon Fulfillment Center means being part of a culture that prioritizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. You will be surrounded by moving machinery, including order pickers and stand-up forklifts, and will be expected to maintain a safe working environment. The temperature in the warehouse can vary, and while climate controls are in place, it can reach over 90°F in certain areas. Noise levels can also be high, and hearing protection is provided if necessary. The dress code is relaxed, but safety footwear is required in specific business units, and Amazon offers a $110 Zappos gift code for new hires to purchase appropriate shoes.
