Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineering student to join our Hardware Engineering teams for a Co-op assignment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with senior engineering staff on both new and existing tools, mechanisms, modules, and systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, enjoy problem-solving, and be capable of managing multiple parallel tasks effectively. This co-op role is designed for a duration of six months, from January to June 2025, requiring full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. The co-op opportunities will be based in the Greater Boston Area, specifically at our state-of-the-art facilities in Westborough and North Reading, MA. These campuses provide co-ops with direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities, allowing for hands-on experience in a cutting-edge environment. As part of an interdisciplinary team, the co-op will engage in designing and analyzing mechanisms, modules, or systems. Responsibilities will include modeling and detailing solutions using hand sketches and SolidWorks, analyzing components and systems through standard tools such as SolidWorks Simulation (FEA), and participating in brainstorming sessions. The role will also involve building models and prototypes, conducting testing, and supporting staff in writing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), specifications, and plans.
