About the position

Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineering student for a 6-month co-op assignment within the Hardware Development Engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior engineering staff on various tools, mechanisms, modules, and systems, contributing to the development of innovative robotic solutions that enhance customer experiences. The position is based in the Greater Boston Area and requires full-time commitment from January to June 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to design and analyze mechanisms, modules, or systems.
  • Model and detail solutions in hand sketches and SolidWorks.
  • Analyze components and systems using standard tools including SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) as well as hand calculations.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions.
  • Build models and prototypes.
  • Conduct testing.
  • Support staff writing ECO's, specifications, and plans.
  • Create GD&T.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar degree.
  • At least one semester/term/quarter of school left to complete after the end of the co-op.
  • Eligible and available for a full-time (40h/week) 6-month co-op between January - June 2025.
  • Graduation is December 2025 or later.

Nice-to-haves

  • Comfortable using hand tools.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Hands-on experience with the ability to craft simple proof-of-concept models.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well with teams.
