About the position

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Co-op for Spring 2025, where you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to applying cutting-edge advances in robotics and software to solve real-world challenges. This role is designed for individuals who are inspired by invention and enjoy problem-solving through teamwork. As a Manufacturing Engineer Co-op, you will have the opportunity to see how your work impacts the bigger picture, contributing to a smarter, faster, and more consistent customer experience through automation. In this 6-month co-op position, you will work full-time (40 hours/week) from January through June 2025, based out of the Greater Boston Area, specifically in our state-of-the-art facilities located in Westborough, MA, and North Reading, MA. These campuses provide direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities, allowing you to engage in hands-on projects that will enhance your learning experience. Your primary responsibilities will include delivering and supporting operations and production projects by collaborating with Amazon Robotics Tech Ops Engineering process owners and other cross-functional team members. You will be tasked with creating mechanisms, processes, and documentation to improve the material approval process or production floor operations. Additionally, you will gather, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements for new projects, enhancements to existing solutions, and production issues reported by end users. You will also drive resolutions within the supply chain network, addressing manufacturability, production, or design issues, and propose design changes that will enhance product manufacturability and testability. Furthermore, you will qualify supplier production processes based on dimensional data, control plans, and PFMEAs, and design and implement manufacturing tools and fixtures into production.

Responsibilities

  • Creating mechanisms, processes, and/or documentation to improve material approval process or production floor operations
  • Gathering, analyzing, and documenting functional/technical requirements for new projects, enhancements to existing solutions, and production issues reported by end users
  • Driving resolutions within the supply chain network and addressing manufacturability, production, or design issues
  • Proposing design changes that will enhance product manufacturability and testability
  • Qualifying supplier production processes based on dimensional data, control plans, and PFMEAs
  • Designing and implementing manufacturing tools and fixtures into production

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a co-op program at your university
  • 18 years of age or older

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of analog and digital skills
  • Knowledge of schematic design and debug skills
  • Experience working for Amazon or any Amazon subsidiary or affiliate
  • Experience in 3D CAD
  • Experience with embedded systems
