About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer Co-op at Amazon Robotics is a 6-month opportunity for Mechanical Engineering students to work alongside senior engineering staff in the Robotics Manufacturing & Technical Operations team. This role focuses on developing and improving flexible manufacturing operations, enhancing efficiency, and contributing to new product introductions. The co-op will provide hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, allowing students to see the impact of their work on real-world challenges in robotics and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to develop and/or improve flexible manufacturing operations (cost, capacity, efficiency, quality, etc.)
  • Develop & track metrics to measure program health and readiness
  • Design process improvements to increase efficiency, whether in the way teams work together or in the way a production line works
  • Create templates and standard work
  • Manage both readiness for and execution of build activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) builds

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar degree
  • At least one semester/term/quarter of school left to complete after the end of the co-op
  • Eligible and available for a full-time (40h/week) 6-month co-op between January - June 2025
  • Graduation is December 2025 or later

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with lean engineering principles and standard manufacturing KPIs
  • Desire to work in an agile environment
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well with teams
  • Experience with ERP, MES, and/or PLM software
