About the position

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer Co-op for Spring 2025, based in the Greater Boston Area. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about invention and problem-solving through teamwork. As part of a dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to apply cutting-edge advances in robotics and software to tackle real-world challenges that enhance customer experiences. The co-op position will last for six months, from January to June 2025, requiring a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. You will work closely with engineers in the Quality and Technical Operations teams, focusing on data collection and analysis to assist with root cause identification and corrective actions. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities, contributing to the development of innovative solutions in automation. In this role, you will document routines, processes, and procedures, analyze test data, and recommend or implement improvements. You will prepare hardware for experiments and testing routines, perform hardware and software debug support to Test Engineering, and interface with IT, Operations, Engineering, and other departments. This position is ideal for students currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, who are eager to make an impact on a global scale and are excited about the prospect of working in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a MS or BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Currently enrolled in College/University and must have at least one semester/term/quarter of school left to complete after the end of the co-op
  • Must be eligible and available for a full-time (40h / week) 6-month co-op between July/Aug-Dec 2024
  • Basic programming fluency
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, circuit characterization and debug
  • Experience with electrical engineering test equipment, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
  • Experience with hardware/software integration and real-time systems
