About the position

The Ambassador position at St. David's Medical Center involves providing high-quality food service to patients in a healthcare setting. The role focuses on assisting patients with meal orders, preparing food trays, and ensuring timely delivery of meals while maintaining excellent customer service. This position is integral to the Patient Room Service Department, acting as a liaison between patients and the Food & Nutrition Department.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in ordering meals and preparing food trays.
• Deliver meals to patients' rooms in a timely manner.
• Act as a contact between the Food & Nutrition Department and nursing units.
• Read patient meal tickets and prepare trays based on specific diet orders.
• Ensure the correct food, portions, and garnishes are placed on each tray.
• Collect food trays and completed meals from patients' rooms.
• Serve meals to patients professionally and efficiently.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of healthcare food service experience.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent.
• Current ServSafe Food Handler Permit.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of experience working in food service in healthcare environments.
• Associate's degree.
