Ambulance Dispatcher

About the position

The Ambulance Dispatcher position at MED-Star Ambulance involves serving as the first point of contact for emergency and non-emergency service requests. Dispatchers are responsible for assessing the nature and priority of calls and coordinating the appropriate EMS transport units. This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Receive and assess emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Determine the nature and priority of calls.
• Dispatch appropriate EMS transport units based on call assessments.
• Maintain communication with EMS units during transport.
• Provide information and assistance to callers as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to assess situations quickly and accurately.
• Experience in emergency services or dispatching is preferred.
