About the position

The Ambulatory Associate Chief Operating Officer (ACOO) at UC Davis Health is a leadership role responsible for providing strategic direction and operational oversight for Ambulatory Care Services, which encompasses over 75 clinics across 32 locations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality patient care, compliance with regulations, and the integration of the organization's strategic plan with operational activities. The ACOO will lead a team of over 1,400 staff members and work closely with ambulatory leaders and department chairs to achieve both short-term and long-range goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and executive-level leadership for Ambulatory Care Services.
  • Oversee operational aspects of assigned hospital departments/divisions and medical practices.
  • Ensure quality patient care and services support the teaching and research mission of UC Davis Health.
  • Integrate the strategic plan of the organization with all operations within Ambulatory Services.
  • Model servant leadership and collaborate with leaders throughout the health system.
  • Provide updates to the Chief Administrator/Chief Operating Officer on substantive issues.
  • Oversee the medical group's ambulatory practice for 950 practicing physicians.
  • Maintain competent staff and a cohesive workplace with engaged employees.

Requirements

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a significant management position within a physician group practice setting.
  • A Master's degree in Health Administration or related fields or equivalent experience and training.
