About the position
The Ambulatory Care - LVN/LPN position involves providing routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider in a medical office or clinic setting. The role focuses on patient assessment, education, and documentation while adhering to established protocols and policies. This is a temporary, full-time contract position based in San Diego, CA, with a pay range of $28 to $32 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine patient care functions as prescribed by licensed health care providers.
- Collect data focusing on various patient statuses including physiologic and psychosocial.
- Complete chart preparation and management for scheduled patients.
- Delegate and coordinate duties of health care team members appropriately.
- Communicate patient test results and follow up as per SYH process.
- Interview patients and measure vital signs as required.
- Implement patient education techniques to support self-management.
- Document pertinent patient information and nursing procedures in EHR.
- Prepare treatment rooms and patients for examination.
- Apply principles of aseptic technique and infection control as directed.
- Perform point of care testing and assist with therapeutic and diagnostic patient care functions.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in California.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (preferred).
- Ability to read, write and comprehend English and medical terminology.
- Good interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in Nursing (preferred).
- Knowledge of Spanish, Tagalog, or Arabic language (preferred).
