About The Position

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking an Ambulatory Care Nurse to join our team at the NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Garden City, specializing in Breast Surgery. This role is pivotal in supporting the coordination, integration, communication, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures. The Ambulatory Care Nurse will actively participate in site and organizational quality and performance improvement activities, systematically collect patient healthcare data using appropriate assessment techniques, and collaborate with licensed providers to develop patient-centered plans of care that prescribe interventions to achieve expected outcomes. In this position, the Ambulatory Care Nurse will provide comprehensive care to all patients, which includes administering treatments and medications, acting as a sentinel for untoward events or symptoms, providing disease prevention guidance, rehabilitation care, public health care, and supportive care for symptom relief. The nurse will perform physical examinations, collect patient health histories, record information in electronic health records, and provide education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans. The role also involves assessing and monitoring patient responses to various treatments and procedures, consulting with clinical supervisors and licensed providers to determine the best treatment plans, and directing and supervising licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, and technicians to support patient flow and efficiency. The Ambulatory Care Nurse will engage in self-assessment and professional growth, maintain current nursing knowledge, and act as a mentor to peers and colleagues. This position requires a commitment to ethical obligations and the recognition of patients' rights to confidentiality, ensuring that care is delivered in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
