About the position

The Ambulatory Patient Representative at Orleans Community Health is responsible for managing patient check-in and check-out procedures, collecting and verifying patient and insurance information, and scheduling necessary testing. This role is vital to the Admissions Team, requiring strong organizational skills, professionalism, and a commitment to providing excellent patient service.

Responsibilities

  • Perform check-in and check-out procedures for patients on multiple provider schedules.
  • Collect, verify, and enter patient and insurance information into the system.
  • Distribute data and collect copays from patients.
  • Schedule necessary testing and obtain authorizations from insurance companies.
  • Conduct telephone triage and appointment scheduling.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with one year of related medical office experience or completion of an accredited medical office training program.
  • Keyboard experience (40-60 wpm).
  • Knowledge of various insurance requirements and medical terminology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
