About the position

The Ambulatory Services Representative for Kidney Acquisition plays a crucial role in providing administrative support to patients requiring routine and urgent medical appointments and procedures. This position involves assessing patient needs, managing appointments, and ensuring a smooth patient experience in an ambulatory setting. The representative is responsible for verifying patient information, collecting co-payments, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities

• Greets visitors and/or patients for scheduled and/or urgent care appointments and procedures.
• Confirms and verifies patient demographic and insurance information.
• May collect co-payments from patients upon arrival.
• Obtains signatures of consent from patient/guardian for treatment authorization and insurance/billing information.
• Assesses patients' needs, including financial counseling, interpreter services, and social services, and refers to appropriate personnel or area.
• Alerts providers to emergent patient care needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1 year of related experience required, waived if candidate has an Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
• Ability to use specialized applications software and computer systems.
• Ability to work under stressful situations and exemplify professional behavior.
• Excellent communication and human relations skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of business office procedures and medical terminology/procedures preferred.
