Responsibilities

• Assist hearing-disabled students in mainstream classrooms by interpreting lessons taught by the classroom teacher.
• Help students ask questions of the teacher using fluent signing.
• Facilitate interaction and communication between hearing-disabled students and hearing students and staff.
• Interpret for hearing-disabled students during extracurricular events and parent-teacher conferences.
• Collaborate with teachers in assessment, curriculum implementation, and student interactions.
• Enforce safe behaviors and enhance the social growth of students in the classroom.
• Interpret behavioral directions and provide physical assistance when necessary.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
• Must meet regulated licensure and/or state certification requirements.
