About the position
The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a dedicated American Sign Language Interpreter to work in schools in Dobson, NC. This full-time position is focused on providing essential support to children, ensuring that interpreters are well-equipped to make a significant impact in their lives. Responsibilities
- Provide interpretation services in educational settings for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate communication and understanding in the classroom.
- Support students in their learning by ensuring they have access to the curriculum through effective interpretation.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance interpreting skills and knowledge.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited program in American Sign Language interpretation.
- EIPA Score of 3.5 or higher is required.
- Previous school-based interpreting experience is preferred but not mandatory.
