About the position

The AMI Meter Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the AMI Meter Change Out Program for Sarasota County. This role involves acting as a liaison between various stakeholders and contractors, ensuring that project timelines are met and that the quality of work is maintained. The position is time-limited, concluding on December 31, 2029, and aims to support the Public Utilities Department and the Sarasota County Community effectively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the AMI Meter Change Out Program.
• Act as a liaison between Sarasota County stakeholders and contractors.
• Conduct weekly update meetings with all involved parties and track project progress.
• Ensure the contractor is working in the agreed-scheduled area.
• Work with the billing supervisor to resolve reading or clerical issues.
• Collaborate with the technology department to ensure timely delivery of files to Sarasota County.
• Manage the calendar for contractor activities in designated areas.
• Distribute meters, boxes, and other parts to the contractor daily and conduct inventory checks.
• Field verify that meters are set correctly and ensure cleanliness and proper installation of equipment.
• Act as the primary contact for escalating critical issues to leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Project Management or a related field and three (3) years of related professional experience.
• OR a Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of required experience.
• Valid Florida driver's license at the time of hire.
