About the position

The Senior Analyst in AML & Financial Crimes plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and implementing various due diligence processes. This position operates under limited supervision and requires extensive knowledge and skills in securities, the banking industry, and compliance, which are obtained through experience, specialized training, and/or certification. The analyst will be responsible for implementing Know Your Client (KYC), Customer Identification Program (CIP), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes. In this role, the Senior Analyst will lead projects that are significant in scope and complexity, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to various business lines. The analyst will work independently on challenging assignments that require comprehensive solutions to complex problems. Maintaining extensive contact with internal customers is essential to identify, research, and resolve issues effectively. The position also involves coaching and mentoring both new and existing analysts, devising and analyzing metrics, and preparing reports related to key measurements of AML customer onboarding activities. The Senior Analyst will assist with various projects, acting as the main point of contact for outside consultants, and will prepare and lead AML CIU trainings for other business units within the firm. Additionally, the analyst will draft and administer policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations related to money laundering, including those outlined in the USA PATRIOT Act. Monitoring regulatory developments and industry trends is a critical aspect of this role, as is developing documentation related to AML issues to enhance corporate policies. The Senior Analyst will respond to regulatory inquiries and coordinate with other compliance personnel, ensuring that they maintain current knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to AML compliance. Providing guidance to Raymond James Associates regarding AML policies and performing duties in a highly professional manner to resolve conflicts or issues is also expected. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for business unit escalations, questions, and advisor issues.
  • Coaches and mentors new and existing analysts.
  • Devises and analyzes metrics, as well as prepares reports related to key measurements of AML customer onboarding activities.
  • Assists with various projects and acts as the main point of contact for outside consultants.
  • Serves as the primary back-up for the CIU Team Leads and provides informal guidance to CIU team members.
  • Prepares and leads AML CIU trainings for other business units within the firm.
  • Drafts and administers policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations related to money laundering included in the USA PATRIOT Act.
  • Monitors regulatory developments and industry trends to incorporate into the firm's AML program.
  • Develops documentation related to AML issues to enhance corporate policies.
  • Maintains knowledge of best practices in investigative research processes using various sources such as industry groups, information issued by regulatory groups, and the United States government.
  • Responds to regulatory inquiries and coordinates with other compliance personnel.
  • Maintains currency in laws and regulations pertaining to AML compliance.
  • Provides guidance to Raymond James Associates regarding AML policies.
  • Performs duties in a highly professional manner to address and resolve conflicts or issues to facilitate a positive working relationship between the field and home office.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge and skills in securities, the banking industry, and compliance obtained through experience, specialized training, and/or certification.
  • Experience in implementing KYC, CIP, CDD, and EDD processes.
  • Ability to lead projects of significant scope and complexity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to provide comprehensive solutions to complex issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to maintain extensive contact with internal customers.
