About the position

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) is a critical role within Delta's TechOps division, responsible for ensuring the safe and proper functioning of the airline's fleet. This position plays a vital part in maintaining the high standards of safety and reliability that Delta is known for, directly impacting the travel experience of customers. As an AMT, you will engage in various maintenance tasks, including the inspection, testing, and repair of aircraft avionic and electronic components in a specialized bench repair environment. You will follow Delta-approved manuals and methods to perform these tasks, ensuring compliance with all safety and operational standards. In this role, you will be expected to perform repairs at the component level, which may include replacing transistors, resistors, capacitors, and other electronic parts. You will also be responsible for executing appropriate computer functions to maintain accurate documentation of maintenance records, parts tracking, and associated costs. Adherence to Delta's policies and standards is paramount, as is the maintenance of a safe, clean, and compliant work environment. Practicing safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures is essential to this role. The position offers a competitive starting hourly rate, with potential for increases based on various premiums such as Airframe and Powerplant licenses, shift differentials, and other skill-based differentials. Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance including inspection, testing, and repair of aircraft avionic/electronic components in a bench repair environment.
  • Conduct repairs to the component level, including replacement of transistors, resistors, capacitors, etc.
  • Execute appropriate computer functions to maintain documentation for maintenance records, parts tracking, and costs.
  • Adhere to all Delta policies and standards.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and compliant work environment is maintained.
  • Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and write English and comprehend technical manuals.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Willingness to work rotating or fixed shifts.
  • Demonstrates privacy priority when handling personal data.
  • Embraces diversity in people, thinking, and styles.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security for self and others.
  • At least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must achieve a satisfactory score on the mechanical aptitude test.
  • Must meet physical requirements, including the ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • At least two years of bench avionics/electronics component repair experience or 21 months of academic training in avionics/electronics component repair.
  • Must pass the Avionics Evaluation Test administered by management.
  • Must be able to obtain IPC-7711/7721 soldering certification within 12 months.
