About the position

Comcast Corporation is seeking an Analyst 2 for Marketing Research & Planning, a role that plays a crucial part in gathering and analyzing information about markets, products, and services. This position is essential for understanding the past, present, and potential customers for the products or services offered by Comcast. The Analyst will research market conditions specific to their area of focus to determine potential sales and provide valuable insights on behalf of customers. The role requires working with moderate guidance in their area of expertise, ensuring that the analyst can contribute effectively to the team while also developing their skills further. In this position, the Analyst will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data on competitors, examining various competitive factors, and preparing statistical reports and graphic illustrations of findings. These reports will include action plan recommendations that will be submitted to marketing research management. The Analyst will utilize computer modeling techniques to forecast future marketing trends, ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of the industry. The role also involves maintaining updates on marketing research and new developments through contacts with educational institutions, professional organizations, publications, and vendors. The Analyst will work directly with cross-functional teams and department leadership to create research presentations and summaries, assisting representatives in developing their research skills. This position requires a consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in significant matters, along with regular, punctual attendance. The Analyst must be prepared to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as necessary, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Research market conditions specific to area of focus to determine potential sales of product and provide research on behalf of customer.
  • Gather data on competitors and analyze competitive factors.
  • Prepare and submit statistical reports and graphic illustrations of findings and action plan recommendations to marketing research management.
  • Collect, examine, and analyze statistical data using computer modeling techniques to forecast future marketing trends.
  • Maintain updates on marketing research and new developments through contacts with educational institutions, professional organizations, publications, and vendors.
  • Understand and practice various statistical concepts, research data, standards, and practices.
  • Work directly with cross-functional teams and department leadership to create research presentations and summaries.
  • Assist Representatives in developing research skills.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Attend work regularly and punctually, including nights and weekends as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in marketing research or a related area.
  • Expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Tableau; Tableau certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, R Studio, and SQL.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications in Google Analytics, R Studio, and SQL are desired.
  • Experience in competitive analysis and market research methodologies.
