About the position

Tyson Foods is seeking an Analyst Applications to join the IT Food Safety Quality Assurance & Environmental, Health and Safety Business Solutions Team. This role is pivotal in the deployment and implementation of a large productivity project across various facilities. The primary mission of this position is to ensure the initiation, follow-through, and completion of tasks related to IT Business Analysis, all while adhering to established timelines. The ideal candidate will be thorough, detail-oriented, and possess a strong customer and outcome focus. Demonstrated experience in meeting goals and deadlines is essential, along with standard computer skills and proficiency in document creation, organization, and the use of technical materials. As an Analyst Applications, you will act as the IT partner to the business, aligning technology with business goals and delivering best-in-class technology solutions. You will cultivate strong business relationships by demonstrating an understanding of related processes, requirements, systems, and terminology. This role requires you to partner with stakeholder teams across business units to document necessary business cases that frame opportunities, benefits, and risks, aiding in decision-making processes. You will also be responsible for staying current with stakeholder needs and strategies by developing a communication process that utilizes both formal and informal methods to communicate updates and findings. Facilitating project meetings and presentations to diverse audiences, including senior management, customers, and technical staff, will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will work with business and IT leadership to develop IT strategies and technical roadmaps, coordinate cross-functional teams, and assist in the delivery of multi-business technology solutions. Your role will also involve maintaining awareness of best practices, analyzing IT proposals, and leading cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment and effective communication across all levels of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the IT partner to the business, aligning technology to business goals and delivering best-in-class technology solutions.
  • Cultivate strong business relationships by demonstrating an understanding of related processes, requirements, systems, and terminology.
  • Partner with stakeholder teams across business units to document necessary business cases to frame opportunities, benefits, and risks to decide on a course of action.
  • Stay current with stakeholder needs and strategies by developing a communication process utilizing formal and informal methods to communicate updates and findings and facilitating project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences.
  • Work with business and IT Leadership to develop IT strategies and technical roadmaps.
  • Coordinate, influence, and gain alignment of cross-functional business & IT teams to develop scalable and strategic solutions that meet business needs.
  • Assist in the project delivery of multi-business technology solutions and must have significant exposure to and demonstrated proficiency in the areas of analysis, design, software requirements, configuration, testing, and implementation.
  • Partner with software vendors on functionality roadmaps and critical issues to ensure vendor solutions are aligned with business roadmaps and initiatives.
  • Maintain awareness of best practices including processes and technology and identify opportunities for improvement of existing functionality.
  • Analyze and interpret information technology proposals and evaluate and develop alternative implementation plans.
  • Lead cross functional meetings & organize/deliver information to audiences at all levels within the company, including executive stakeholders.
  • Handle multiple engagements simultaneously without compromising accountability or reducing level of engagement.
  • Develop strong working relationships with business partners, peer IT teams and vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, other technical areas or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in Information Systems or related area with proven experience as a business analyst preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in gathering and documenting requirements preferred.
  • 2+ years of business process modeling experience preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to tell the 'story'.
  • Experience communicating technical information to stakeholders, peers, management and non-technical team members.
  • Experience communicating functional requirements to highly technical team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across the team with a growth mindset propensity towards action and learning.
  • Ability to work independently and set priorities based on key milestones, impact to strategic initiatives and high-level direction of management.
  • Ability to handle initiatives in a high-paced environment.
