Analyst, CIT, Corporate Banking

About the position

The Analyst position in CIBC's Corporate Banking team focuses on providing coverage, advisory, and solutions to a diverse client base, including international corporations and financial institutions. The role involves supporting client relationship management and contributing to the design, origination, structuring, and execution of global products and services. Analysts will work collaboratively with team members to deliver insights on mergers and acquisitions, capital solutions, and lending products, while also managing credit relationships and conducting credit analysis.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prepare pitch books with detailed industry materials and comprehensive corporate finance analyses
• Perform financial modeling, valuation, comparable and relative value analyses
• Facilitate collaborative idea generation and solution development for clients
• Assist in the development and continued cultivation of client relationships
• Effectively aggregate and synthesize data from a variety of platforms
• Liaise with internal partners to support existing and new client relationships
• Support the ongoing monitoring of credit relationships by conducting credit analysis and preparing credit reviews
• Present credit requests to senior management as part of business evaluations

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of relevant work experience
• Exceptional communication skills
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience performing financial analyses in Excel
• Fundamental understanding of key accounting and credit concepts
• Ability to think commercially about the needs of the client
• Team-oriented and proven ability to work with different stakeholders to solve problems
• Proficient with the Microsoft suite of products (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel, OneDrive)
