About The Position

The Analyst position within the CMBS primary ratings team at Moody's involves analyzing credit aspects of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) transactions. The role focuses on assigning initial ratings to securities backed by commercial real estate mortgage loans, conducting financial modeling, and producing insightful presale reports. The successful candidate will also engage in research projects and contribute to thought leadership initiatives in the CMBS sector.

Requirements

• At least 5+ years of professional experience in the commercial real estate sector.
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Well-developed analytical skills and strong written and oral communication capabilities.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in structured finance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze credit aspects of CMBS transactions, including property cash flows and deal-level financial modeling.
• Serve as the primary ratings analyst for transactions and present findings to rating committees.
• Communicate analysis during internal meetings and write accurate presale reports.
• Complete various special research projects and develop in-depth knowledge of the CMBS sector.
