About the position

The Analyst, Commissions plays a crucial role in managing and monitoring sales compensation payouts within Freedom Mortgage. This position is responsible for administering commission and incentive plans, ensuring compliance, and supporting the variable compensation process. The Analyst will utilize tools like Excel, Snowflake, and Power BI to analyze and execute compensation calculations, while collaborating with sales leadership to align commission plans with company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership to develop and maintain commission plans in alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Analyze, audit, and validate production reports to ensure accuracy and eligibility for commission calculations.
  • Identify and provide recommendations for process improvement opportunities within the department.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with commission plans and company policies.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting to drive insight and decision making across the team.
  • Act as the contact for plan participants to resolve commission related issues, including problem assessment, research, and communication of outcome.
  • Identify ways to continually refine and improve commission accuracy and increase efficiency while focusing on stated company goals.
  • Ensure plan requirements are accurately documented and communicated to sales leadership, sales representatives, and HR/Payroll.
  • Ensure commission cycles are in compliance with published schedules, plan documents, company policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and administer biweekly & monthly incentive plan payments.
  • Create standard commission calculation templates.
  • Interpret compensation plans and provide explanation and clarification to any questions regarding commission calculations.
  • Prepare and present commission reports and analysis to senior management, when requested.
  • Work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, leading and driving complex operational initiatives.
  • Utilize HR systems including Workday to streamline processes and achieve deliverables.
  • Create and execute opportunities for automation, reduction of manual processes, and simplifying processes that help drive accuracy, productivity, and transactional efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business management, finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of related experience in commission administration preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience with Snowflake or Power BI preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge of the mortgage industry - terminology and rules of engagement.
  • Effective organizational skills and self-motivated work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with implementation of a data system and understanding of system configuration.
  • Broad range of skills within Commissions/Finance discipline to effectively perform routine to complex assignments.
