About the position

The Analyst, Compensation Operations at Oaktree Capital Management will support the company's global compensation operations team, focusing on equity, long-term incentives, and carried interest programs. This entry-level position involves administering and maintaining compensation data, ensuring compliance with legal agreements, and preparing communications for plan participants. The role emphasizes collaboration, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the ongoing operations and maintenance of equity, long-term incentive (LTI), and carried interest programs and databases.
  • Ensure equity, LTI, and carried interest awards are administered in accordance with legal agreements and comply with country-specific provisions.
  • Prepare statements, communications, and control logs for plan participants regarding new awards and distributions.
  • Administer employee loans, including coordinating issuance of promissory notes and interest billing.
  • Coordinate work performed by offshore teams and external vendors, ensuring accuracy before supervisor reviews.
  • Prepare compensation-related calculations and coordinate timely payments with Treasury and Payroll.
  • Respond to compensation-related inquiries and disseminate information internally and externally.
  • Prepare reports for investors and key stakeholders, providing accurate data for quarterly financials and public filings.
  • Assist in initiatives and projects by preparing presentations, reports, and analysis.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality processing and quick resolution of issues.
  • Proactively seek and suggest improvements to streamline workstreams and automate reporting.
  • Provide back-up support to the payroll team as needed.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as necessary.

Requirements

  • 0-4 years of analytical experience within a professional firm; compensation experience preferred.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks with competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
