About the position

The Analyst - Data Governance role at AF Group involves assisting in the organization and execution of strategic programs, focusing on data governance and risk activities. The position requires research, analysis, and evaluation of data to identify trends and issues, while maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the business and its products. The Analyst will support management in implementing solutions and monitoring initiatives to ensure corporate objectives are met.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing and facilitating strategic program creation and execution.
  • Research and compile relevant data and feedback for risk activities.
  • Analyze and evaluate data to identify existing and potential trends and issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of business products, programs, and corporate structure.
  • Monitor initiatives and outcomes to ensure goal attainment.
  • Develop communication lines to discuss analysis results with management.
  • Investigate and recommend innovative solutions to identify problems and root causes.
  • Identify resolutions to challenges and issues to fulfill corporate objectives.
  • Assist in the development of plans, reports, and other materials.
  • Provide feedback to corporate staff and participate in discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Health Care, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in a related field, preferably in financial analysis, planning, health care economics, or business management.
  • Experience in a P&C insurance setting and developing data management frameworks is preferred.
  • Proficiency in R/SQL/Python for data analysis is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop project management and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently and direct others' efforts.
  • Proficient in software packages such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in health care policy and statistical modeling.
