About the position

The Analyst - Data Governance role at AF Group involves assisting in the organization and execution of strategic programs, focusing on data research and analysis to support risk activities. The position requires maintaining knowledge of business operations and facilitating communication between corporate areas to ensure effective program implementation and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing and facilitating strategic program creation and execution.
  • Research and compile relevant data and feedback for risk activities.
  • Analyze and evaluate data to identify existing and potential trends and issues.
  • Monitor initiatives and outcomes to ensure goal attainment within defined parameters.
  • Develop lines of communication to discuss analysis results with management through reports and presentations.
  • Investigate and recommend innovative solutions to identify problems and root causes.
  • Identify resolutions to challenges and issues to fulfill corporate objectives.
  • Assist in the development of plans, reports, and other materials.
  • Provide assistance and feedback to corporate staff as required.
  • Participate in group or committee discussions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Health Care, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in a related field, preferably in financial analysis, planning, health care economics, health care policy, statistical modeling, or business management.
  • Experience in a P&C insurance setting and developing a data management or data privacy framework is preferred.
  • Proficiency in R/SQL/Python for data analysis is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop project management and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently and direct the efforts of others.
  • Proficient in software packages such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in health care economics or policy.
  • Familiarity with statistical modeling techniques.
