About the position

The Analyst - Database Support position at Avangrid Service Company involves providing critical support for the Energy Control Systems (ECS) that manage Electric Transmission and Distribution Systems. The role focuses on the design, development, and testing of various systems, including the Electric Management System (EMS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. The analyst will be responsible for maintaining database systems, ensuring uninterrupted service, and analyzing system data for engineering requests.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for the AVANGRID Energy Control Systems (ECS).
• Support the design, development, and testing of functional requirements for various systems.
• Document all database system design, maintenance, and enhancement work.
• Proactively monitor and maintain all database and application systems.
• Analyze, extract, and make available system data for engineers on request.
• Be on call for database and systems support activity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years in RDBMS experience or Associate Degree with 4+ years in RDBMS experience or 5-7 years' IT and RDBMS related experience.
• Experience in Oracle database administration (Oracle 19c, 12c, 11g).
• Experience in administering Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC), ASM technology, and Oracle DataGuard.
• Experience with database utilities like Oracle Data Pump, RMAN, Oracle Imp/Exp, and/or SQL Loader.
• Knowledge of database programming, SQLPlus, and PL/SQL.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Shell Scripting, Python, C, or Java Script.
• Experience in database tuning and SQL tuning for applications.
• Experience working with RedHat Enterprise Linux and/or Oracle Solaris UNIX.
• Experience working with Exadata Servers and/or Oracle Linux on Exadata Servers.
