As an Analyst in the Division Supply Chain at Sonoco, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Board Mill maintenance department. Your primary responsibilities will include planning, organizing, and directing activities to ensure employee safety, proper preventative maintenance, and maximum uptime of the board machine. You will be the key point of contact for customer orders, managing the entry of customer orders, change orders, and credit orders for finished goods into our ERP system. This role requires you to interact closely with plant production control personnel to manage customer order releases effectively. In this position, you will serve as the front-line liaison between plant operations and customer operations, addressing daily, weekly, and monthly requirements and associated issues. These issues may include customer requirements, notices of complaint, and changes in customer demand. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely online customer forecasts, which are essential for the entire planning and control cycle. Monitoring shipping schedules and logistical issues with various production plants will be part of your duties, as well as identifying, disposing of, and following up on slow-moving, aged, and surplus inventories. You will participate in or initiate various customer conference calls as required, and customer visits may also be necessary to establish and enhance communications. Your role will involve interacting with various disciplines within the supply chain, including plant schedulers, PC managers, shipping, sales, and corporate planning. A working knowledge of associated bill of material accuracy, graphics, and can configuration processes will be beneficial. Ultimately, you will play a key role in achieving plant and corporate production planning and control goals, contributing to the overall success of Sonoco's operations.
