About the position

This position is on-site at our Royal Caribbean Headquarters in Miami, FL. The Analyst for Food & Beverage (F&B) Waste will play a crucial role in supporting all analyses related to food and beverage waste across the fleet. The primary responsibility will be to identify and implement strategies to prevent waste, including the development of periodic food waste targets. The analyst will participate in ship visits to assess waste reduction opportunities, implement pilot projects, and track progress. Collaboration with various stakeholders will be essential to achieve the best outcomes. The role involves setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each project and working closely with the Manager of Waste to make informed go/no-go decisions. Additionally, the analyst will evaluate results from shipboard waste analyses, determine KPIs, and develop corrective actions and guidelines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager of Operational Excellence in reducing food waste fleetwide and developing prevention plans.
  • Work on the Food Production Management System (FPMS) to manage daily tasks and support implementation.
  • Maintain communication with the POS team to gather data and analysis identifying cost savings opportunities around F&B waste.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to prioritize ideas and other analyses as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining the department calendar of activities through Microsoft Project.
  • Monitor F&B food waste and department KPIs to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Analyze special projects, defining KPIs and measuring results.
  • Responsible for ad hoc analysis for projects impacting food and beverage cost and waste.
  • Summarize results and trends through presentations, databases, graphs, and schedules as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT, shipboard, shoreside, and other employees to achieve goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • 3 to 5 years of related experience in financial/business analysis or a related field, preferably with other cruise lines.
  • Cruise or Travel Industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Word, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet is required.
  • Project Management experience is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced analytical skills, including data management, statistical analysis, and operations research exposure.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication, presentation, and writing skills, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to generate creative and actionable recommendations to increase revenue, reduce costs, and improve operational performance.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills to identify and interpret trends and provide achievable recommendations.
  • Ability to solve complex problems in non-standardized situations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with IT implementation projects is highly desirable.
