About the position

The Financial Analyst I position at GPC involves compiling and analyzing financial information to support the organization’s financial health. This role is crucial in creating and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring that all financial information is recorded accurately. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for recording journal entries, performing variance analysis, and conducting account reconciliations. This position reports to the Accounting Supervisor and plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of financial data within the organization. In this role, the analyst will evaluate financial trends, identify and investigate unusual or unexpected account variances, and prepare management ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed. The Financial Analyst will also reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data, ensuring that general ledger accounts are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Additionally, the analyst will identify financial variances by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts, and will actively seek opportunities for performance improvement across the organization. Collaboration is essential in this role, as the Financial Analyst will promote teamwork between operational groups and departments, ensuring that financial insights are effectively communicated and utilized. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, making this a dynamic and engaging position within the finance team.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA a plus
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, or other related fields
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to accuracy and detail required
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with Excel
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Team player
