About the position

The Flight Operations Process Improvement Analyst at United Airlines plays a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency by analyzing existing processes, identifying gaps, and implementing improvements. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills who can collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and ensure effective project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analyses of existing processes to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and areas for improvement
  • Apply both data driven and experience driven approaches to assess performance and derive actionable insights
  • Present findings, process maps, and recommendations to management and other key stakeholders in a clear and actionable format
  • Design and conduct tests of proposed process changes to evaluate their effectiveness and impact
  • Analyze test results and performance data to validate the effectiveness of implemented changes and ensure they meet desired outcomes
  • Partner with process owners, schedulers, and pilots in the operation to harvest feedback to develop and implement operating goals to improve efficiency and experience
  • Engage with stakeholders to capture detailed requirements and pain points for thorough analysis
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive consensus and gather feedback on process improvements
  • Assess and prioritize process improvement initiatives based on impact, feasibility, and alignment with organizational goals
  • Develop and manage a prioritization framework to balance competing demands and allocate resources effectively
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure that high-priority issues are addressed promptly while maintaining progress on other initiatives

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of analytics and/or process improvement projects
  • 2+ years of professional work experience
  • Proficient with MS: PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experience with process mapping and system analysis
  • Ability to travel domestic/international up to 30%
  • Ability to work from Arlington Heights and Willis Tower locations
  • Ability to observe the operation on all shifts, holidays, and IRROPs events as needed for research
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
