About the position

The Flight Operations Process Improvement Analyst at United Airlines plays a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency by analyzing and optimizing processes within the Flight Operations team. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify inefficiencies, create process maps, and implement improvements that align with organizational goals. The analyst will utilize both data-driven and experience-driven approaches to derive actionable insights and present findings to management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Create process maps to visualize workflows and identify gaps.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and ensure efficient project execution.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders in a clear format.
  • Design and conduct tests of proposed process changes to evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Analyze test results and performance data to validate implemented changes.
  • Engage with stakeholders to capture detailed requirements and pain points.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather feedback on process improvements.
  • Assess and prioritize process improvement initiatives based on impact and feasibility.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to address high-priority issues promptly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of analytics and/or process improvement projects.
  • 2+ years of professional work experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with process mapping and system analysis.
  • Ability to travel domestically/internationally up to 30%.
  • Ability to work from Arlington Heights and Willis Tower locations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree or 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Aviation Engineering or Business Digital Technology background.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Spotfire, Python, Foundry).
  • Airline proven experience.
