About the position

The Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) plays a crucial role in providing financial support to Post University. This position involves researching monthly variances, preparing detailed business analysis reports, and developing various financial reports that link to University Systems and Data Lake. The Analyst will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and accounting personnel, requiring a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation of the monthly financial reporting package.
  • Provide thorough analysis of actual results, including key drivers of University operations.
  • Analyze line-item variances and actual vs budget vs prior year analytics.
  • Conduct trend analytics and return on investment calculations.
  • Generate financial reporting covenants and assist in presentations for the Board of Trustees and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of related experience in financial analysis or a similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA with a financial background preferred.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and effective communication skills for presenting outcomes to peers and senior management.
  • Understanding of financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment and implement changes quickly and accurately.
  • Broad perspective on business issues and ability to view them holistically.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and proficiency in ERP systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data access in ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work effectively.
