About the position

The FP&A Analyst position at Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Denver is focused on successful financial management and analysis, which are crucial for the organization's operations. The role involves providing insightful business and performance analysis to support the Senior Leadership team, ensuring effective budget management, accounting, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in facilitating the preparation and review of annual operating budgets, monthly forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Conduct periodic budget reviews with programs to identify risks and develop proactive solutions.
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by management.
• Budgeting and forecasting of expenditures and revenues to ensure sufficient cash flow and reserves.
• Perform complex accounting duties in the preparation of financial documents, records, and reports.
• Prepare and post journal entries, including reclassification and monthly recurring entries.
• Assist in the year-end closing process and prepare audit schedules.
• Examine accounting data for accuracy and appropriateness.
• Assist program staff in interpreting laws, rules, and regulations, and clarifying procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years related work experience.
• Demonstrated competence in the use of MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data using spreadsheets and databases.
• Knowledge of accounting and budgeting processes.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• High initiative and detail-oriented.
