About the position

The Analyst position in Global Trade Finance at TD Securities is an entry-level role focused on client coverage within the Corporate and Investment Banking sector. The role involves supporting Trade Finance Relationship Managers and requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving. The Analyst will engage with clients and internal teams to develop tailored financing solutions, manage deliverables, and contribute to the overall client origination strategy.

Responsibilities

• Support four Trade Finance Relationship Managers in client management functions.
• Engage in productive client interactions and develop a solid understanding of trade finance products.
• Prepare presentations and discussion materials for client meetings.
• Assist in term sheet negotiation and closing new business.
• Manage the NY deal pipeline using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
• Collaborate with product partners to ensure appropriate presentation contributions.
• Facilitate all aspects of facility approval, including Know Your Customer (KYC) and instrument issuance.
• Assist in the execution of trade finance strategy and review facility documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance or related field.
• 0-2+ years of experience in finance or related roles.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
• High level of self-motivation and initiative.
• Familiarity with corporate financial statements and credit analysis.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with credit facility documentation.
• Understanding of corporate lending and trade products.
• Client-facing experience in a financial context.
