About The Position

The Analyst I - Expenditure Management role at Edward Jones is primarily responsible for executing and facilitating payment processes and controls related to the firm's expenditure management functions. This position requires a broad skill set in accounting and analytical knowledge, focusing on expense entries, reconciliations, and system jobs impacting accounts payable and branch expenses. The role also involves auditing work completed by others and running daily system jobs to ensure successful payment processing.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, or accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, SharePoint, Outlook).
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data retrieval and analysis.
  • General knowledge of accounting practices and principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Oracle PeopleSoft.
  • Proficient in One Stream.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare payment requests and perform expense accounting entries in accordance with firm policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Process, reconcile, resolve, and review general ledger accounts and transactions.
  • Analyze, document, and participate in department projects to improve business processes and create capacity for firm growth.
  • Prepare, summarize, and present financial reports and analysis to facilitate decision making.
  • Develop business relationships to accomplish department functions and provide excellent service, including managing vendor relationships.
  • Train and assist team members, displaying thought leadership and indirect leadership.
  • Identify and research risk issues, formulate control recommendations, and implement solutions.
  • Handle Tier II service escalations and provide solutions along with corrective action entries.
  • Audit supplier information, resolve errors, and assist with data governance for IRS reporting.
  • Engage in system design, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting to meet business area requirements.
