About the position

The Analyst I, Quality position involves performing testing on finished products, in-process, or raw material samples in either the chemistry or microbiology lab. The role is crucial for providing analytical information to support the manufacturing process and ensuring that products meet specifications and consumer safety standards. The position requires adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and compliance with various quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine testing in the QC lab accurately and consistently.
  • Conduct testing in accordance with SOPs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration procedures on laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare and qualify reagents as required.
  • Sample raw material and finished product containers.
  • Assist in labeling off-quality material as needed.
  • Analyze and report results via LIMS and communicate/present test results to appropriate persons.
  • Follow all standard lab procedures and testing methods.
  • Ensure lab equipment is kept clean and in good working order.
  • Maintain accurate records of all test results and report them in a timely manner.
  • Suggest changes to procedures and methods as needed.
  • Conduct all lab procedures in a manner that protects safety and health.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory safety equipment and cleanliness standards.
  • Participate in plant safety initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Degree with an Associate of Applied Science Degree preferred in chemical technology, microbiology, or related fields.
  • 6 months to 2 years experience in a testing laboratory or equivalent, with experience in a chemistry lab preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment and analytical testing procedures preferred.
  • Good math and analytical skills.
  • Computer literacy with MS Office, email, Internet, etc.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, and cGMPs desired.
  • Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a chemistry lab preferred.
  • Knowledge of CGMP, GLP, FSSC, and ISO 9001 standards.
