Walmart, a global leader in the retail industry, is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineer to join our Supply Chain team. In this role, you will identify and implement opportunities for defect reduction, waste elimination, and process improvement, which will measurably impact First Time Quality metrics and reduce rework. You will lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement improvement initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical guidance on process design and improvement. Utilizing statistical tools and methodologies, you will analyze data and perform root cause analysis, applying industrial engineering techniques such as time studies, work measurement, and motion analysis to identify opportunities for process optimization. Additionally, you will lead or support project management activities, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement opportunities for defect reduction, waste elimination, and process improvement to impact First Time Quality metrics and reduce rework.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical guidance on process design and improvement.
  • Utilize statistical tools and methodologies to analyze data and perform root cause analysis.
  • Use industrial engineering techniques such as time studies, work measurement, and motion analysis to identify opportunities for process optimization.
  • Lead or support project management activities, including planning, scheduling, and budgeting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with a Quality Management System.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Proficient in the use of process mapping, data analysis, and statistical tools (PowerBI, Tableau, BigQuery, Minitab).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically.
  • Strong written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and quality management systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or project management (e.g., PMP).
  • Co-Op/Internship in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Distribution with experience applying basic Lean/Continuous Improvement Tools.
  • Possess applied knowledge of a functioning Quality Management System elements including Statistical Process Control, FMEA, Quality KPIs, etc.
