In this role, you will perform complex analyses of financial records, including trends, costs, estimated and realized revenues, and administrative commitments. You will prepare income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting reports. Additionally, you will provide support and leadership guidance to volunteers, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and applicable regulations. This position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to work independently while also coaching other professionals in the field. Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial reports and records; make studies or recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records, including accounts receivable/payable ledgers.
  • Coordinate accounting matters with other departments, locations, and divisions.
  • Conduct special studies and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures.
  • Analyze accounting data, business results, and develop management reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Knowledge of applicable principles, concepts, practices, and standards in accounting and finance.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in the use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fundamental knowledge of accounting and analytical ability.
  • Experience with financial technology such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx.
  • Strong customer service skills to help others understand budget and Red Cross processes.
  • Ability to build relationships and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Self-motivated with experience in nonprofit accounting, CPA, or MBA.
