About the position

The Regulatory GAAP and Statutory Investment Reporting Analyst at Lincoln Financial Group is responsible for providing timely and accurate investment reporting for the General Account Invested Assets. This includes Statutory, GAAP, Management, and Tax basis reporting. The role involves performing investment research, analysis, and ensuring proper accounting treatment of Lincoln's investment positions to support strategic operations and initiatives. The position is part of a dynamic team that interacts with various stakeholders across the organization, offering opportunities to gain experience in financial reporting, investment accounting, and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and proper investment reporting of General Account Invested Assets under applicable Statutory, GAAP, Management, and Tax basis.
  • Responsible for investment disclosures for SEC (10K and 10Q) and Statutory reporting (including blue book and green book schedules).
  • Provide accounting information on fixed income and other investments for compliance with accounting/reporting regulations.
  • Resolve discrepancies and inquiries on General Account Invested Assets from portfolio management and asset managers.
  • Identify risks, research technical investment accounting issues, and communicate financial implications to management.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to facilitate accurate and timely completion of the investment accounting process.
  • Stay current on professional and industry trends and contribute suggestions for improvement.

Requirements

  • 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's).
  • Prior experience working in investment accounting or accounting systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, securities, or financial reporting directly related to the responsibilities of this position.
  • Technical knowledge in investment accounting.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong relationship management skills with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to identify and recommend process improvements.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience in regulatory and job training requirements.
