About the position

The Hartford is seeking a driven and motivated Business Analyst to join the Global Specialty IT organization. This role focuses on supporting multi-year strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing digital capabilities within the company. The Business Analyst will engage in stakeholder interviews, requirement workshops, and backlog refinement sessions, ensuring effective communication between technical and non-technical teams. The position emphasizes agile practices and lean thinking to deliver business value efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct stakeholder interviews and requirement workshops.
• Lead backlog refinement sessions and interact with Product Owners and end users.
• Elicit, document, and test new requirements, as well as validate existing ones.
• Create new user stories and facilitate prioritization of user stories.
• Support developers and testers in understanding business and technical requirements.
• Drive working sessions that promote collaboration and achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of practical experience in business analysis in complex situations.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the insurance industry.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, able to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Experienced facilitator with strong presentation skills.
• Strategic thinking skills with the ability to assess solutions holistically.
• Experience with integrations and data standards for quality documentation.
• Ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels and demonstrate leadership skills.
• Experience in a multi-source offshore delivery center and shared services environment is a plus.
• Experience in Agile development, including prioritizing and creating features and stories.
