As an Analyst of Distribution Operations at United Parcel Service (UPS), you will play a crucial role in managing the delivery and deployment of contracted services to customers, ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded. This position involves collaborating with vendors, customers, and various internal support groups to support business products effectively. You will be responsible for overseeing daily facility activities, which include government compliance, inbound receipts, kitting, processing orders, procuring suppliers, managing inventory, staffing, facility inspections, employee engagement, development, safety, security, and profitability. In addition to operational responsibilities, you will engage in financial activities such as forecasting, allocations, adjustments, and creating annual business plans that align with both business unit and corporate initiatives. A significant aspect of your role will be to retain and strengthen customer relationships, which may involve face-to-face customer service interactions. You will also be tasked with identifying and recommending opportunities for improving the efficiency, effectiveness, and capabilities of the operation. Your expertise will extend to providing support to field stocking locations (FSL), agent locations across multiple geographies, and the provider network. While you may supervise others in a “player coach” capacity, your primary focus will be on applying your individual expertise. You will utilize your working knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures within your job discipline to broaden your capabilities and understanding of company processes and customer needs. The role is designed for entry-level professionals on UPS's career track, typically requiring a four-year degree or equivalent experience. You will be expected to perform routine assignments and resolve common issues by using established precedents or seeking guidance when necessary. Your work will impact the quality of your own output and that of your team, and you will share factual information with team members while receiving regular guidance.
